Missy and Tony have known each other for nearly a decade. After working together in Corporate America, they have joined up to bring their fine-tuned an effective career coaching approach to those who are ready to OWN their Future!

Missy Jackson, Managing Partner with The Vantage Group, Inc.

Missy is a solution-focused strategic architect who is passionate about supporting people in their personal and professional growth. She has more than 20 years of experience in developing clients and partners, from multimillion-dollar businesses to coffee growers in Central America. She is a certified analyst for Behaviors, Driving Forces, Acumen and Emotional Quotient assessments applying the DISC in addition to holding a master certification in The Prioritized Leader framework. She also specializes in improving business processes and applying a lean approach to solving problems. This combination of skills allows her to connect with all stakeholders in a multidimensional, strategic manner leading to the successful achievement of desired outcomes.

Prior to joining The Vantage Group, Missy worked as the Lead of Sales Enablement and Strategic Selling Programs as well as the pioneer Sales Performance Systems Manager for Herman Miller’s lean process expansion into Sales. She created leadership and development processes and training systems, led cross-functional teams on continuous improvement journeys and collaborated with senior leadership on formulating incentive and growth strategies. She also served as board chair of Health and Well-Being for the Herman Miller Cares Foundation. Prior to Herman Miller, Missy spent 8 years working in the commercial and residential construction industry serving in multiple capacities including sales and project management.

Missy’s passion for people is evident when looking at her history within nonprofit and small business sectors. Shortly after graduating from Calvin University, Missy co-founded and managed a direct trade specialty coffee business sourcing from small-scale farmers in Central America. Currently she is serving as President for A.Y.A. Youth Collective board of directors and is an active member of several other community groups.

Tony Cortese, Principal with Aria Leadership and Consulting, LLC

 Tony brings 35 years of experience in Leadership, Human Resources, Consulting, Mentoring, and Coaching in various organizations and at levels ranging from entry level to the C-Suite. His coaching and consulting clients have included senior executives, new and emerging leaders, individual contributors, and teams that have worked for corporations, start-ups, utilities, non-profits, and government agencies.

He recently retired as a Senior Vice President from Herman Miller; where he provided strategic leadership for their global Human Resources Team. Much of his focus during his 22 years at Herman Miller was on organizational transformation and coaching/developing business oriented human centric Leaders.

Before joining Herman Miller, he spent more than a decade as a hands-on, plant floor Human Resources Manager with Church & Dwight Co., Inc. (You know them as the “Arm & Hammer” people). He started his professional career with Ralston Purina.

His initial foray into HR was as an intern at a steel mill. Before that, he held a number of character- building jobs working as a janitor, dishwasher, groundskeeper, retail clerk, hapless garage hand, and starving musician. He wouldn’t trade those experiences for anything. Each of them contributed to who he is today…

In addition to his experience, he has a Master’s Degree from the Rochester Institute of Technology, a Bachelor’s Degree from State University of New York College at Fredonia, and various leadership certifications from Thunderbird, the University of Michigan, Georgetown University, and MIT.

While working with The Vantage Group over the past five years, my company has grown an additional $2.5MM, we’ve established a national client base, and our net margin as a percent of revenue doubled.
